The sloping site, constantly brushed by the rush of vehicles and rising dust, called for more than just a home it called for a sanctuary of privacy and calm. Situated on the Gulf of Finland, this waterfront residence combines minimalist architecture with traditional Tudor elements. The property spans 2 491 m² and includes two buildings: the main house and a guest house with an integrated staff annex and garage. A winter garden connects the two structures, creating a green oasis that softens the sharp geometry and adds a sense of harmony to the composition. The construction of the new pool complex Češča vas is envisaged in a space dominated by the existing, recently renovated velodrome. It is our preference not to drastically alter the spatial relationships with the erection of the new swimming pool facility as it would introduce disorder that the space could do without, and further saturate it. The new pool facility thus takes advantage of the topographic properties of the inclined terrain. It is sited as low as possible and does not constitute a new dominant in the space. The swimming pool Brigitte Becue is the new sports and recreational attraction in Oostende. By combining a large public swimming pool and 22 apartments in one building, the building blends perfectly into the existing urban context. At the same time, the building fits in with the green surroundings of the neighbouring golf course and the coastal strip. The apartments, housed in two separate volumes on top of the aquatic centre, contribute to the recognizability of the complex.
