By the sea — and nowhere else — people gather, drink, and share moments that are fleeting yet unforgettable. Heimat Architects completed Under the Same Eaves, a unique pavilion for the 2025 Aranya Theatre Festival in Qinhuangdao, China, through a two-phase process: 7 days of fast-paced design and 7 days of intensive construction. As the main station for baijiu tasting during the festival, the pavilion serves both as a social anchor and as a spatial expression of transience. Part of Migratory Birds 300, a 300-hour continuous art experiment, the project embraces full disassembly and reuse after the event — embodying a zero-waste and sustainable design ethos.

House F Dornbirn
In response to the heterogeneity of its residential setting and the adjacent marshlands, the F House has adopted an ordered, mostly single-storey volume. An inner courtyard offers a protected, private space. To the northwest, the house gains a second storey which accommodates an office and opens onto a roof terrace. The new house has been conceived entirely in timber: all surfaces inside and out are finished in untreated, local wood.

Austrian holiday home demonstrates the intrinsic qualities of wood construction
On a southern slope reached via 70 steps of a development staircase, this holiday home in Austria by Stefan Schweighofer stands on the strip foundations of an old container house from the 80’s. The shape, proportions and orientation of the building were carefully considered with reference to the existing houses that surround.

Reduced to the essentials, the black building with gable roof is constructed with solid wood, making a static framework that can be directly experienced and felt, especially in the interior.

Live + Work - Hauserberg
The building was conceived to be a compact, accessible structure, offering a partwise office- and residential use divided into five units. The building's architecture symbolizes a ship that has been washed ashore in the urban area.
The organically shaped terraces and the spacious glazings are built in a way so they can correspond with the cardinal points. The main axis of the building is pointing south, where large window planes are placed in order to make the maximum use of the natural energy of the sun, while suffusing the interior with light.
