The ambition is to create a new landmark for the city of Aarhus and a meeting point in the University City - the upcoming city-integrated campus at Aarhus University. Long known as a vibrant arts campus, the School of the Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno, has hosted the university’s art, music, theater, and dance departments at its arts complex designed by renowned Modernist architect Richard Neutra since 1962. The Pernod Ricard Group recently added its first university campus to its resources. This high-tech complex is designed around four “moments” – work, relaxation, accommodation and convivialité. It boasts four main centres, four different architectural styles and four materials: stone, wood, concrete and metal. Architecture inspired by science AKG Architects wrapped the National Centre of Physical and Technological Sciences, at the University of Vilnius in Lithuania, in a unique façade inspired by chemical elements. The hexagon shape of the chemical structure serves as the basis for space planning, which then follows through the interior to register on the exterior, combining function with architectural design in a compelling way. The Hochschule Ruhr West - University of Applied Sciences in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany, in short the HRW, is part of a nationwide development of new universities. The site is located in a suburban, almost rural setting, bordered by woods on its southern side, and the Istra river embankment on the northern side.
