Villa Santpoort is a detached residence located in the dunes of Santpoort-Zuid, designed to form a connection with its surrounding landscape. The design responds to the natural level differences of the site, resulting in a playful split-level layout where spaces are interconnected yet retain their own identity. The villa consists of a wooden volume placed on a concrete plinth, intersected by glass elements that create transparency and unique light conditions. The integrated approach to both exterior and interior results in a cohesive design that strengthens the relationship between the home and nature. A complex of three stone-built buildings is located west of the city of Chania in the village of Kalivani, near Balos. Built on a plot of 420 sq.m., the buildings, measuring 220 sq.m., are arranged around an inner courtyard with water as the connecting element between the building volumes. The building plot featured a natural slope and was located on the outskirts of Lamporecchio, at the junction of two roads leading toward the town center. The previous owner anticipated future development by modifying the site's original topography. By adding fill, he created a level platform that improved views and increased privacy from the street.
