Villa Exomandria is a contemporary Cycladic retreat on the hillside of Monastiria, Antiparos — 700 square metres of built space set within 10,000 square metres of raw, sun-baked landscape, with panoramic views across the Aegean toward Sifnos and Paros.
The Cyclades have one of the world's most recognisable architectural traditions: cubic white forms, thick walls, stone and lime plaster, buildings shaped by the same logic for centuries. Villa Exomandria builds on that tradition without decorating it. Raw concrete and natural stone mirror the surrounding cliffs. Whitewashed walls, exposed wooden beams, and large openings pull light in from every direction. The pool follows the natural contours of the hillside rather than imposing a geometry onto it.
CUUB Studio's visual approach followed the same discipline the architecture demanded. The renderings follow the movement of the sun — soft morning haze, the particular quality of midday light on stone, golden hour settling across the pool. Textures of stone and wood shift with the light, the atmosphere changing across the day without ever being pushed.

Specific architectural moments carried the story: the organic curve of the pool, bedrooms carved into the rock, natural stone walls that are barely distinguishable from the cliffs around them. The large openings throughout the villa became the visual hinge between interior and landscape — the threshold where inside and outside stop being separate things.
Vegetation is one of the strongest tools for creating a sense of place — it tells you about climate, rainfall, the intensity of sun, the season, the geography, before any description does. On a Greek island, the right plant in the right spot does more work than almost any other visual decision. The goal was not to show a villa that happens to be in Antiparos, but one that could only be there.
