26 tons of fallen LA street trees inspire Uchi West Hollywood by ORA
Located in one of LA's most walkable and vibrant neighbourhoods, Uchi West Hollywood features interiors and architecture by ORA. The concept of wabi-sabi—finding beauty in imperfection—was central to ORA, who developed a design concept for the Texas-based Japanese restaurant brand around the rows of suspended live-edge wood slabs sourced from fallen street trees crafted in collaboration with Angel City Lumber.

Sugi Weathering Stain Silver
High-grade Japanese sugi siding and paneling. Simple sawn straight logs, graded for color and grain, then sanded. Suitable for exterior applications only. Substitute on projects where North American cedar or cypress are specified. A weathering stain is applied prior to shipment. Our weathering stain is designed to mimic the look of moisture-aged, silver wood. The initial silver pigment in the stain will wash off of the walls within the first several seasons, leaving them to turn a beautiful and unique gray-silver. The color will continue to change and patina over time.

Yakisugi "shou sugi ban" siding and paneling. Wire-brushed and textured surface. Most of the soot is removed, revealing a striped pattern. A clear polyurethane is applied prior to shipping. Suitable for interior applications only.
Nakamoto Forestry
Our non-toxic polyurethane is a clean and hard coating that protects the wood from dirt and abrasion. It can be quickly wiped down with a moist cloth, or easily touched up. This coating is not suitable for exterior applications or in any installation where the product will be consistently exposed to moisture (e.g., shower walls/ceilings).
