What a tree! That was one of the first thoughts during the site visit. No wonder this tree was and is protected. The whole plot was overgrown, and it was clear that as much of the greenery as possible should be preserved. Unfortunately, there were also some diseased trees that could not be saved, just like the existing, dilapidated bungalow. The plot was not easy to plan, not only because of the existing trees but also due to the building regulations. Within the tight framework conditions, a very compact semi-detached house for two families with three roofs was built, which not only makes optimum use of the eaves height regulations but also provides great spaces inside.

Clanton Park House
The clients had two main requests when this project began: first, they wanted to be able to move in as soon as possible, which meant that the extended footprint had to strictly adhere to zoning by-laws in order to expedite the building permit; and second, they wanted to maximize the useful floor space - as a family with a young child, they wanted to accommodate flexibility and room for play, while still ensuring that the house felt composed and ordered.

Into the woods
The building is situated in the countryside near Genova, surrounded by a chestnut trees woods.Before the refurbishment works, the house was characterized by a long corridor that completely cut the flat, leading to the several rooms arranged on both its sides. The project changed this one-directional principle by demolishing half of this corridor and introducing a cross-shaped furniture that manages the whole house introducing a second direction.This huge furniture contains a stairs - connecting to an attic upstairs - and the suspended kitchen cabinets in the shorter cross arm, while the longer cross arm hosts the main closet and shelfs of the house. Staircase renovation/refurbishment
The project was undertaken by a team of experts in stair refurbishment and renovation. It was hard work, but the client was more than happy with the results.
Style: Modern, Glass - that is where the "transition from darkness to light" comes from. This staircase makes everything brighter and can give a house a touch of greatness.
The target of this project are people that love to do things by themselves (DIY) and we recommend this design if you are a modern person. Even so, you will need to have some knowledge in refurbishing and design in order to be able to renovate your old staircase into something magnificent as this. More
