The office is located on the ground floor of an apartment building on Lykavittou Street, in Kolonaki, Athens. The apartment building was designed in 1947, by Emmanuel Vourekas and Renos Koutsouris. On the initial plan, the space was a 150 square meter apartment with 2 bedrooms on the street side, hall, living room and dining room, while a transitional space (OFFICE/study and cellar, as mentioned in the original floor plan) connected the spaces to the kitchen and the maid's room with built-in WC facing the vacant lot. The construction area is approximately 7000 m2.6 different suggestions were prepared for the facade, and finally mesh facade design was chosen. The building has 1 basement floor. The property at the edge of an industrial park, surrounded of orchard meadows, inspired us to create a hybrid structure, which blurs the boundaries between the classic typologies of office and residential buildings. Far cantilevered, rectangular ceiling tiles and recessed façades extend the office space to the outside – possibility rooms, which the user can appropriate for a short retreat into the green or for spontaneous brainstorming in the group. Designed and finished in a crazy haze, new localization marries both thoughtful, functional solutions and spontaneous, esthetic ideas.  Function: taking into consideration the structure of a new office, designers decided to move all rooms that don’t need daylight to the far end of the office, with no access to the windows. Because of that the conference room, the phone booth, and the bathroom, along with the corridor (with a niche that hides a cupboard and a printer) were encapsulated in a simple and functional cubicle. The property is located close to the historic center of Genoa, in the center of the Piccapietra district near the court and Piazza De Ferrari, an area mainly characterized by the presence of office buildings with commercial activities, a few hundred meters from the historic center and from the Old Port.
