Atelier_ AZC is an architecture studio founded by Grégoire Zundel and Irina Cristea, active in Paris since 2004. Alberto Gatti, a member of the team since 2011, becomes an associate in 2025, marking an important step in the evolution of the workshop.
Journey _ The AZC journey has been built through various projects, covering the main uses of the city: transport, logistics, housing, tertiary, as well as several public, sports, educational, cultural and health facilities. This diversity is reflected in both large-scale achievements and temporary architectures.
Accompany the evolution _ In urban environments, uses intersect and overlap, and buildings often evolve to change function. That is why our architecture prioritizes the legibility of plans, the rigor of structures and the relevance of materials and volumes, in order to accompany these transformations.
Approach _ Our work is based on three axes: to design the building as a functional whole, as a place for society and as an assertive architecture. This three-pronged approach allows us to design buildings that are reliable, humane and durable.
Environment _ Aware of the challenges related to the climate emergency and the preservation of biodiversity, we prioritize rehabilitation and transformation rather than new construction. We are trained in the specificities of sustainable buildings in Île-de-France and integrate these skills into each of our projects.
Collaboration _ Today, our projects are part of collective dynamics, driven by increasingly broad and multidisciplinary teams. We cultivate an open and constructive dialogue with all stakeholders – design offices, companies, users and public partners – in order to design an architecture that integrates all constraints, meets everyone’s expectations and stands out for its degree of success.
