One single container full of decorative items from Indonesia. That is how the story of Ethnicraft began. In 1995, Antwerp entrepreneur Philippe Delaisse decided to bring back a container of furniture and interior accessories from his holiday in Indonesia, in order to sell them at home. His friend Benoit Loos heard about it and joined forces with Philippe. Together, they started to import one container every few months. After just one year, they had clients waiting at the Antwerp docks, numbered ticket in hand, to buy that one special item they desired. The partners very quickly decided that they wanted to design and manufacture their own furniture, and set up their rst production site in Indonesia. Today, Ethnicraft has production facilities in Indonesia, Vietnam and Serbia, with offices near Marseille, in Singapore, Indonesia and Hong Kong, and, of course, a head office in Belgium. Ethnicraft is an international trendsetter with an extensive network of retailers all over the world. And it is still growing, with more and more customers in Asia, America and Europe specically asking for the brand. A new chapter has begun.
