The American Institute of Architects honored Lake|Flato with its prestigious Firm of the Year Award in 2004, and the firm earned a Texas Medal of Arts in 2009 and was named a finalist for the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award in 2010. In 2013, Fast Company named Lake|Flato one of the Ten Most Innovative Architecture Firms in the World. The firm received the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture in that same year and in 2014, was inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame.
