Martin Pierce Hardware Inc. was founded by Martin Pierce in 2002. The company is based in Los Angeles and all of the work is still made in the USA. The company grew from the bronze cabinet hardware that Martin developed for his Hedgerow furniture line. As you will see, Martin Pierce now offers a complete range of decorative door pulls as well as kitchen door knobs and recently, bathroom accessories, which include bronze towels rails and stainless steel soap dishes. There are 6 distinct styles of hardware, four of which are cast in bronze with the Morphic and Ergo styles being more often cast in stainless steel. All of the styles are original and copyrighted and are cast in the lost wax method which allows exceptional detail. The Hedgerow, Willow and Lizard styles are all nature inspired but each is still a distinctive hardware series. The Hedgerow and Grape Vine collections are reminiscent of Arts and Crafts hardware with stylized trees and gnarly vines that are sculpted to create decorative door handles. Willow is a series that captures the motion of leaves swirling in the wind. The Lizard collection, as its name suggests, offers original door pulls in the form of grand lizard handles resting on hewn back plates or lying on tree bark. Martin Pierce sees his decorative hardware as functional art that he hopes will be appreciated by the discerning design professional and home owner. Many of the designs have been adapted so that they are ADA compliant upon request which means they are suitable for hospitality hardware markets and quality commercial projects. Where the scope of the project permits, Martin Pierce will create custom hardware to fit a specific need. However, as every original piece is sculpted by hand, custom pieces are inherently expensive.
