Brief:
The renovation of this private single-family residence in Bologna, led by Studio Dall’Occa and interior designer Marta Franceschini from Doodesign, aimed to blend contemporary design with the home’s original architectural essence. The objective was to create a functional yet aesthetically refined space, maximizing comfort, privacy, and natural light.

Key Challenges:
One of the main challenges was integrating modern elements while respecting the existing structure. Another focus was optimizing the spatial layout to balance private and social areas, ensuring a smooth flow between them. The design also had to create a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, particularly for the panoramic terrace.

Materials & Choices:
The project emphasized high-quality materials and a sophisticated color palette. Farrow & Ball shades, such as Inchyra Blue, Picture Gallery Red, and Elephant’s Breath, were carefully chosen to bring depth and character to the interiors. Large glass windows enhanced natural lighting and energy efficiency, while premium wallpapers added texture and personality to the living spaces. Every detail was curated to maintain harmony between functionality and style.
