On a former campsite is the plan area ' The Nieuwkoopse Eilanden ' realized. The new building plots are spread over a number of headlands between the Nieuwkoopse Plassen and Zuideinderplas. Building plot 40, where the watervilla is realized is located in the 4th fase of the masterplan.
JADE architects has been asked to design and develop a villa that is lifecycle-proof. Our clients were looking for a place where they could realize their dream house on the ground floor. Taking their aging process into account. The plot is a 'special' which gives a lot of freedom in terms of design and made it possible to create an one-story house.
The site is in contrast to many others, not focused on the Nieuwkoopse Plassen, but on the newly landscaped park at the backside of the plan area. The site offers fantastic views over one of the long water lines adjacent to the reed landscape. With this as a starting point for the design, a one-story house arises that provides views over the beautiful surrounding landscape and opens itself to the water through the use of large glass windows. The living areas are positioned in a way that each time they provide different views and let the sun into the house during various times a day. The areas are connected by a central corridor with a big skylight in the middle of a green roof. The roof can easily adapt up to 26 solar panels. The house is heated and cooled with a heat pump.
The volume accommodates a sheltered outdoor seating on the water by the use of a big overhang. The facade of the villa is built out of two materials in a color scheme to match the reed landscape. The solid top and bottom consist of brickwork. Between the brickwork there is a much lighter aluminum material used.
