The Residence of Manish Shah & Babita Shah Vedant Eminent, Akota, Vadodara, Gujarat
Home is where the heart is: your haven, your source of respite. Your home reflects who you are, replicating your mind and soul. After being ensnared in a mental quagmire for five months, debating whether to refurbish their old flat or not, Manish Shah and his family eventually discovered their oasis—a sample apartment near their previous residence in Akota, Vadodara. They reached out to us once again to handle the interior work.
The design platter was presented to us, showcasing completed common areas, bathrooms, and meticulous ceiling and paint work, which posed an intriguing design challenge. Our task was to fulfil a brief that encompassed three bedrooms, each intended for occupancy by distinct generations, as well as a study tailored to the needs of our CA client.
Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by a foyer adorned with a veneer door and anodised antique finish metal jali. The name plate cleverly conceals a hidden storage compartment. These unique details embody a timeless and practical design solution, catering to both security and everyday storage needs. Since the living room had already been designed to their liking, we transformed their balcony, which was nestled beneath a magnificent neem tree, into a cozy setup. We incorporated a coffee table and a service counter, crafted with veneer and adorned with beige artificial stone.
The master bedroom exudes maturity and elegance, designed to be occupied by the client couple. Complete with veneer finishes, the bedroom features two wardrobes, a dressing unit with a captivating mirror, and a cleverly designed headboard that seamlessly integrates with the bathroom door, creating a harmonious aesthetic.
The daughter's room reflects her lively personality and has been fully designed according to her preferences, with a charming pastel theme. She desired a room that was vibrant yet not overly childish. Consequently, we carefully selected a delightful shade of peach in PU material and incorporated a playful arch design throughout. Each furniture piece, including the wardrobe, headboard, study unit, and dressing mirror, features the timeless round arch form, executed in a distinctive yet cohesive manner.
The grandparent's room embodies a sense of tranquility, offering the occupant the much-needed peace. The room is characterised by simple yet thoughtful design choices, featuring white PU finishes with accents of grey and black in the fabric and hardware. The overall aesthetic creates an atmosphere of serenity and calmness.
In addition to serving as a guest room, the space was intended to function as a study. To optimise storage for the CA client, the wardrobe was designed in a manner that could accommodate their belongings. Furthermore, an unwanted column offset near the veneer-finished study table was skilfully integrated with an open shelf display. A custom-made sofa-bed was crafted to the desired size and upholstered in the client's preferred fabric, ensuring both comfort and functionality.
Thus you will see, each room is so strikingly different yet beautiful and complete in it’s own way!
