The project deals with the rethinking of the outside area of the agritourism farm ‘Canales’, located on the edge of the basaltic edge of the Cedrino lake, in Dorgali (Sardinia, Italy); The design choices follow the awareness of an urgent need for quality for the project in the rural contexts of the island of Sardinia. A research of quality that the intervention tries to translate into builtshapes, reinterpreting the principles and features of that minimal living that has built up the island's low-density landscape over time. Luftig und hell dank eines zusätzlichen Fensters und Öffnungen in den Wänden. Um sich nicht in das ursprüngliche Gebäude einzumischen, nimmt der restliche Wohnraum die Form eines Gebäudes innerhalb eines Gebäudes an, mit der Küche und dem Bad im Erdgeschoss und dem Schlafzimmer im Obergeschoss. Das Weingut Tillingham Winery liegt in Peasmarsh an einem gewundenen Weg, inmitten von Feldern und Wäldern mit Panoramablick über das Tillingham-Tal in Richtung der Cinque Port-Stadt Rye. Das Einfamilienhaus am Fuße des Veľká Fatra-Nationalparks liegt an der Grenze zwischen dem bebauten Gebiet und dem bebauten Gebiet. Volksmundlich befindet sich das Haus hinter den Hügelketten, so dass die gesamte Gestaltung der Materie darauf ausgerichtet ist, das traditionelle Konzept des ländlichen Erscheinungsbildes zu bewahren. Der Gesamtausdruck des Volumens des Hauses wird durch seine Dachlandschaft fragmentiert, wobei die Typen von zwei Satteldächern verwendet werden, die sich nach oben hin abstufen. Das unter dem Namen Kilnwood bekannte Anwesen liegt am Rande der Mendip Hills und bietet einen weiten Blick über Glastonbury Tor. Der Auftrag für das Projekt, der De Rosee Sa erteilt wurde, bestand darin, dafür zu sorgen, dass die Renovierung und der Neubau die gleiche lokale Umgangssprache und Architektursprache wie andere nahegelegene Bauernhöfe und ländliche Gebäude haben, wie z.B. The existing church needed to double in size to accommodate a growing congregation - the church could not be easily extended so it was decided to build a new church and to re-use the original church as a space for children and performance. The minister, Gavin Millard, was an architect who was educated at Wits University in the 1980’s before entering the ministry.   He was agreat client as he understood our intentions and processes - not only was he a great facilitator but also added immeasurably to the process through wise counsel. The private homes are located on a sloping plot in Selva, which - situated in the heart of the South Tyrolean Dolomites - forms the end of the Val Gardena.  In terms of urban planning, the design of the buildings is inspired by the typical so-called “Paarhof”, a form of mountain farm common in the entire Alpine region, in which the residential building and farm buildings are built in close proximity to one another and their gabled roofs are mostly oriented towards the valley. Auf dem Gelände befand sich eine bestehende Immobilie, die abgerissen wurde. Es war aus zwei Arbeiterhäuschen entstanden. Es hatte einen sehr langen und schmalen Grundriss, war in einem sehr schlechten Standard gebaut, wurde seit vielen Jahren nicht mehr instand gehalten und litt unter Setzungen. Es war nicht möglich, das Gebäude so zu renovieren, dass es den aktuellen Vorschriften entsprach oder diese sogar übertraf, also war der Abriss die einzige Option.   Nach dem Vorantragsverfahren stimmten die Planer zu, dass ein Ersatzhaus akzeptabel wäre, aber sie legten fest, dass es aus schwarzem Holz sein sollte, im Stil einer Scheune, mit einem Ziegeldach, und dass es an der gleichen Stelle auf dem Grundst&u... Zwei schlichte eingeschossige Baukörper – das kleinere für die Eltern, das größere für die junge, wachsende Familie – reagieren sensibel auf Topografie und Vegetation vor Ort und bilden mit dem bestehenden Wirtschaftsgebäude ein hofartiges Ensemble. Zufahrt und Nebengebäude bleiben dabei unangetastet. Die Schnittstelle von Öffentlichen und Privaten wird hierbei an die Grundstücksgrenze (Vorfahrt) und nicht am jeweiligen Haus erfahren. The three building shells (a replacement building and two new buildings) allude to the former farm buildings in the farmstead areas, given the absence of protrusions and recesses and therefore their simple design. The replacement building that was completed at a later date adopts the development structure and gable design of high street development and is a continuation of this.   The two new buildings completed (and shown here) were developed at the lowest point of the plot and follow the site as it falls away slightly to create a required graduation of the ridge heights between the two adjacent street areas. In the green countryside of Treviso, near the Sile river and the Venetian lagoon, is where H- Farm was born: a business and training center geared to innovation through new technologies. The renovation of abandoned farm buildings and the construction of new wooden ones marked the first intervention where today more than five hundred people are living and working. We’ve created a modern farmhouse that extends into the natural prairie landscape, providing a humanistic experience in natural light underneath vaulted ceilings. The interior experience is intended to mirror the exterior feeling.   Our client purchased 19 acres of land in Southern Wisconsin with the goal of spending their time surrounded by the native prairie that they themselves had rehabilitated. The couple wanted a single-story home that would not dominate the restored prairie, but rather enable the interior experience to be an extension of it. It was only after living in their 400-year-old Jacobean farmhouse in Suffolk for 3 years that Architect Howard Nash (Co-director of Nash Baker Architects) and his partner Monique Beauval-Nash felt they knew the building well enough to make a start on its renovation. They used this long gestation period to good effect, repairing and improving decaying Victorian farm outbuildings and developing creative ways of tackling the architectural and conservation issues raised by the main farmhouse.
