Situation For the first time since 1973, and for only the second in history, The Ryder Cup returned to the home of golf in Scotland. In September 2014 the Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire held one of the greatest tournaments in golf. Set within 850 acres of Perthshire countryside, the five-star Gleneagles Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort is home to three championship golf courses, a sparkling, awardwinning spa and an exhilarating array of outdoor activities. A rennovation of the existing indoor swimming pool and exterior hot tub were slated to take place before the tournament.

Solution ARDEX UK was contacted by Leisure Design to provide tile installation product recommendations. ARDEX X 77 MICROTEC, flexible wall and floor tile adhesive was selected for its 60 minute open time allowing larger areas of adhesive to be spread in a single application, enabling Leisure Design installers to work more efficiently. ARDEX EG 8, waterproof cement/epoxy hybrid grout and adhesive combines the chemical resistance of epoxy grout with the application properties of cement based grout. It was selected for its ideal for use in swimming pools and other areas where chemical resistance and hygienic joints are required.
