Maine Coon House

This residential project is tailored to cater to the diverse needs and preferences of each family member. The art-loving and perfectionist dad will find harmony in the design. Mom's requirement for abundant storage is met, coupled with a bright and organized ambiance. The first son's love for automotive is reflected in specific areas, while the second son, an introvert, enjoys personalized spaces for solitude. For the daughter who adores cute elements, the design incorporates charming touches throughout, ensuring a cohesive yet individually tailored home for the entire family.

MAIN CONCEPT

The ultimate goal for this project is escalating space quality through our design. We focus on creating desired user experience through various textures, proportion , and colours that will create sensory and visual experiences in every room. We also try to blend the style that architect wants to bring in this house by repeating some elements that’s used for exterior part and bring it to the interior part. It will creates a good harmony between architecture and interior.

MAIN FOCUS ON THE DESIGN

1. reducing indoor - outdoor barrier by repeating outdoor materials or elements indoor.
2. creating sensory experience by combining various material touches (wood texture, suede, leather, fabric , stone, marble, and rugs)
3. emphasizing each room character by creating more dramatical transition between each room and also a different but integrated mood at each room.

FOYER

Foyer will be the first room that guests see when they enter the house. So we put some elements as an identity statement that can give some hints about the owner's interest , identity, character, or anything that the owner is willing to show.

LIVING ROOM & PANTRY

There is no bold divider between the living room & pantry to give a more spacious room feeling and also allow family members to interact with each other more freely. Instead of a wall or barrier, we define the space by decorative material (carpet , hanging lamp, wooden ceiling , and semi transparent partition). Wooden ceiling to highlight the pantry and living room as a center of the house. A carpet under the sofa to define the space of the living room. Open shelves with decorative glass as a two faced partition between the stair and living room.

The TV panel, adorned with repeating outdoor stone elements, blurs the line between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a harmonious atmosphere. Various soft-touch materials such as beige leather, black leather, rugs, and plaid wool are tastefully combined, adding depth and allure to the space. General lighting takes a backseat, as the ambiance is curated with preference for indirect lighting, enhancing the cozy atmosphere.

MASTER BEDROOM

Nature-focus bedroom design by having rounded window faces toward the trees outside, so the interior mood is made a bit dark (dark wood & concrete tone) to emphasize the point of the rounded window. Indirect lights are preferable to create a more cozy ambience in a bedroom.

HOBBY ROOM & CONTEMPLATIVE SPACE

It is a place to escape from the ordinary spaces inside the house and also a place to experience and explore new things, so we try to create a different ambience by composing some raw materials (bricks and concrete) with nature.

KIDS BEDROOM

Because of the limited spaces, all kids bedrooms were designed very functional and maximizing every inch of space. All the users are students so we are concerned with making sufficient storages so all stuff can be organized. Also we want to give some personal identity in each room through small touches of decoration or color ; so users can easily change the theme in the future.
