This minimalist home is one of four modern country houses on the Nieuw Bellinkhof estate in the IJssel Valley. With a living area that seems to float above the rugged natural landscape, the house offers sublime views.
The design consists of a black enclosure over which a white block of flats appears to float. The black enclosure runs almost all the way around. The lower section acts as a base for the raised white block.
Space is created between the staggered geometric forms, so that the house does not appear massive and is in contact with the landscape.
