Finca in Menorca, Baleares
Nestled in the middle of the olive trees and rocky lands of the island, this building with lime and stone walls was once a rustic farm. The new owners discovered it in a sorry state and entrusted it to Atelier du Pont to make it their ideal vacation home. Welcome to a typical place with sweet Mediterranean flavors.

In the volumes, white lime is omnipresent. It reflects the light and allows to illuminate the high interior rooms that are not very open to the outside. Without touching the main structure, the architectural language of the house is redefined and improved, combining traditional influences and contemporary accents.

The color has allowed to restructure and delimit these large spaces. A palette of warm, contrasting hues meets the white walls and ceilings. This is a creative project that boldly twists local codes into a new chromatic universe.

The local know-how is honored and offers cachet and authenticity to the house. The furniture is mostly masonry. Natural mineral materials are used such as earthen concrete and earthenware.

The swimming pool, protected by its stone walls, forms a small corner of paradise. An impression of calm and serenity reigns there. As if time had suspended its flight above the domain.
