Golden Huts design is amalgamation of many thoughts and a final outcome respecting the site, its surroundings and the prime approach. Though it falls on the main National Highway 8, near Rewari Town, Haryana but creating a facility like this was not a sure winning proposal at the time of its execution having very limited road traffic on this highway. Therefore the design has been visualized in such a manner to be more flexible, expandable beyond limits and as well as creating good conducive environment.
The design is based on pure geometry combination of hexagon with square optimizing on grid and span. Based on the space and functional requirements the various spaces have been created.
During the initial development of the project itself and overall positive response in terms of its usages expanded the requirement of having large restaurant, fast food, Bar & Banquet facility besides increasing the number of guest rooms and other recreational facilities like Health Club, swimming pool, Billiards Room, squash courts, Badminton & Tennis Courts etc…
Being deserted surrounding and environment, the resort has been developed have thick and rich landscape with designated walking track, bird nests, sauna bath, steam bath facilities. To attract more guests, petrol filling station has also been planned being part of the complex. Large Party lawns, Barbeque and open restaurant having been created which are befitting example of interwoven landscape within the working environment and spaces.
As the surrounding areas have now been fully developed having medium and large industrial as well as corporate units, the resort has now been ideally located for spending weekends as well as for conducting conferences and board meetings. It has an area of six acres which is now appearing to be smaller for such vibrant resorts.
The various blocks of the horizontally expanded complex have been placed in such a manner as to penetrate into the landscape and create a green enveloped environment.
The interesting element of the arched buttresses provides a beautiful varied serial vision. The fenestration design is elaborate and efficiently helps in maximizing the view of the surrounding landscape as well as adds to the aesthetics of the built environment.
To conclude, the resort is like a Green Oasis in the deserts and provides very refreshing and enriching, soothing and cool experience beyond imagination and a creation worth appreciating.
Prof. Charanjit S Shah feels proud for experimenting local materials and created sustainable green eco friendly architecture which was perhaps the initial stage of his practice and has lead him to be a leader in creating green and sustainable future built form and looking towards creating habitat beyond Net Zero rather Net Positive.
