Kim and Chang

MCX Interior come Architetti

Kim & Chang, Korea’s largest law firm by headcount, has achieved recognition as a top-tier law firm globally. Further firmly establishing their presence in Singapore, this year Kim & Chang moved their team to a office in the Bank of China Building to support their growing operations.

The client’s brief to MCX interior included designing an office that encapsulates their brand and will rival their headquarters in Seoul, Korea, in terms of functionality, aesthetics and technology.

Kim & Chang selected a 2,200 square foot space and engaged MCX Interior to create an open, dynamic and functional office that meets their requirements for enclosed offices and meeting rooms.

Three ways MCX Interior helped to create a more dynamic workplace for Kim & Chang:

  • Flexible meeting rooms: An operable wall between the two large conference rooms with state-of-the-art audio visual systems allows combination of the two rooms into one. MCX Interior planned their furniture selection to accommodate multiple scenarios for use of these rooms individually and together.
  • A hideaway pantry: Ability to conceal or expose the pantry keep the area looking clean and minimalist when desired and to open as a coffee bar to support large speaking events and so forth.

  • Multi-functional spaces: The workstations in the open area can be folded and tucked away in the equipment area when hosting events.

In line with Kim & Chang’s brand guidelines, the design follows a black and white design scheme to create a gallery look and feel where the firm can showcase their prized artwork from Korea. The overall design feels quite open and transparent. Use of large glass planes in lieu of solid walls in strategic locations helped create a more visually open office while still factoring in acoustic properties for privacy and noise control. MCX Interior provided Kim & Chang with a new Singapore office truly efficient and with room to spare.
