Developers Kroonenberg Group and Pro Winko appointed Herzog & de Meuron together with Quadrangle to design a mixed use tower alongside Canada’s most expensive real estate mile, the upscale shopping district Mink Mile.
The 87-storey tower will house 332 condominiums spread over 64 floors. The first 16 floors of the existing structure will be relocated in the new building. A restaurant, sky lounge and rentable spaces will occupy the top three levels with spectacular views over Toronto downtown.
The apartments will receive plenty of daylight through floor-to-ceiling windows fitted with external timber shutters that allows residents to regulate the light and heat intensity coming in. The 324 meters high tower is set to eclipse Foster + Partners' 306 meters high One tower that is planned for completion in 2022.
