Archello will be covering the bi-annual Parisian trade fair this January. With 2300 brands present, 147 countries represented and over 20 conferences this year’s Maison et Objet is not to be missed!
For those unfamiliar with the event, Maison&Objet Paris is a trade fair like no other. It showcases an exciting and exacting range of products and solutions spanning the full home and lifestyle spectrum, with 600 new brands coming on board each year.
There are a number of reasons to be excited for the first of two Maison et Objet offerings this years.
Maison et Objet’s Rising Talent Awards January 2023: Spain
Firstly, the winners of Maison et Objet’s Rising Talent Awards January 2023: Spain will be showcasing their work on the world stage. Among them is Barcelona-based creative Marta Ayala Herrera, whose works spans engineering and industrial design.

Her work focuses on the relationship of the individual with his environment through objects. She likes to experiment with industrial materials and craft processes to create her pieces. The main goal of her design practice is to discover new languages of contemporary design.

Be sure to catch the rest of the winner’s work at Maison et Objet from 19-23 January!
Inspiration theme, January 2023: ‘Take Care!’
Secondly, January 2023’s Inspiration theme of ‘Take Care!’ promises to offer interesting and innovative solutions to today’s design challenges. The theme is set to sweep across the entire trade fair, even rippling out to the talks and the trend zones.

“When deciding on our themes, taking a close look at modern day society always serves as our starting point. Today, the second we step outside, we are hit with cultural, environmental and identity issues. Society is craving new models, and that is something that brands can deliver, providing solutions that target the environment, safeguard expertise, or encourage us all to care for others or focus on our own wellbeing. What we are interested in is the rising voices that are picking up that gauntlet. The under 25s that make up Generation Z are impatiently waiting for something to be done. Today, a new set of ethics are dictating the type of consumer activity we are seeing”, analyses Vincent Grégoire, Creative Director at the NellyRodi design consultancy.

Maison et Objet have identified the following as the four ‘cornerstones of care’: Taking care of yourself, taking care of nature, taking care of and showing an interest in others and taking care of our heritage and expertise. All four will feature heavily throughout the trade fair.
Designer of the Year: Raphael Navot
And lastly, January’s edition sees the announcement of the annual ‘Designer of the Year’ award.
For each show, Maison&Objet announces a recipient of its esteemed Designer of the Year Award. This is intended to recognise and celebrate the work of a designer who demonstrates exceptional talent and skill in the international design and decoration scene.
Maison&Objet recently announced that Parisian-based Raphael Navot is the recipient of the Designer of the Year Award for this January 2023 edition.
Raphael Navot, a multidisciplinary interior designer, will showcase “The Apothem Lounge” for the duration of the trade fair. This immersive installation is designed to “portray a visual emotion”, through the curation of an open structure that will rapture people with light and texture.

Stay tuned for Archello’s picks from the January 2023 edition of Maison et Objet and we look forward to seeing you there!
