Barla is the first collection designed by Angeletti Ruzza Studio for YAAZ. It has received the Good Design Award, one of the most prestigious competitions recognized worldwide.
Established in Chicago in 1950 by Charles and Ray Eames, Eero Saarinen and Edgar Kaufmann Jr., this trophy is assigned by Chicago Athenaeum to all leaders of the sector who in some way have managed and succeded to establish new innovative directions in the world market thanks to their commitment and their proposals.
It is a unique award made much more important by the criteria and methods of judgement: for more than 70 years these range from innovation to concept, from function to usefulness, evidently extending to form and aesthetics.
The Barla collection, characterized byenveloping shapes and soft fittings,is composed of an armchair, a sofa, a table and a chair. The main structure of the elements is represented by two aluminum tubes that always run parallel, following both straight and curved lines, thatoutline the profile of the furniture. The seats find their definition through a tightly woven thick fabric which contributes to soft and round shapes and to the wide and comfortable proportions of the elements, highlighted by the cushions hinged to the external metal structure of the sofa and the armchair.
