Black Suède B-900 is a building-integrated photovoltaic facade panel from Solarix. Carefully selected black solar cells and a specially specified front glass give the panel a deep, semi-matte, suede-like appearance, allowing energy generation to be incorporated into the architectural treatment of the facade rather than added as a visibly separate technical system. Solarix reports a maximum output of up to 214 Wp/m².
Its principal sustainability benefit is the generation of renewable electricity from facade surfaces that might otherwise remain passive, supplementing roof-mounted photovoltaic arrays where roof space is limited. Across its facade-panel range, Solarix specifies durable, weather-resistant construction intended to perform for at least 25 years. The panels are PFAS-free and can be removed and replaced individually, supporting maintenance without dismantling an entire facade. The associated mounting system is manufactured using 80% recycled aluminium.
