Carola by Dooor is a wavy textile micro-architecture, a mobile privacy retreat. Designed as a circular, self-supporting, and independent module, it serves as a fitting room, phone booth, private area for collective spaces or even cocoon in residential contexts. Its enveloping shape creates a protected environment where the threshold between inside and outside dissolves in motion. When covered with sound-absorbing fabrics, Carola transforms into an acoustic bubble, enhancing sound comfort and creating a hushed atmosphere that fosters privacy and concentration. With a standard diameter of two meters, the unit is stabilized by a metal base plate, a circular upper band housing the guiding mechanism, and an internal metallic accordion structure. The handles, selectable in different colours and sizes, facilitate seamless access into the capsule.
Carola is a scalable and repeatable element, adaptable to different configuration needs and customizable with the over 200 claddings of the Dooor collection to create unique combinations.
