DISCOVERY VERTICAL

Discovery is an unobtrusive, utterly absent, and immaterial element. Its volume is only perceived when switched on, thanks to the light that outlines the central emitting surface. Introduced in 2015 in the suspension version and in 2016 in the wall version, it now comes in three different vertically suspended sizes.
The result is an even more magic and scenic element, which interacts with its surroundings by, for example, framing perspectives, points of view, or details with its perfect transparency when switched off.
An ultra-light aluminium profile hosts to a LED strip that injects light into a clear microengraved PMMA surface with a pattern designed to ensure maximum efficiency and uniformity.
The micro-engraving generates precise and punctual light extraction by balancing flows vs. the emitting surface, thus ensuring optimal visual comfort and constant, allencompassing light on both sides.
Despite high performances and flows, the effect is extremely comfortable and even complies with the UGR rules for working environments.
Once again, then, Artemide goes beyond classical schemes and biases that see a sharp separation between design appliances and the high-tech performance of office systems.
