Diversity Maquettes

Following the ‘Luciferase’ series created for Galerie BSL, and presented at the gallery and at Basel in 2011, for the first time in Paris Béatrice Saint-Laurent proposes a piece from the ‘Diversity’ collection produced in 2010 by Rossana Orlandi. ‘Diversity’ is a family of 20 objects based upon a variation of the same theme: a seat connected to a narrow and closed ‘cocoon’ desk. This virtually matrix style seat is available in different materials: broken glass; paper; gravel; concrete; steel; resin; wood; plaster, etc… Genetic variations with the same DNA which make up a sculptural, crude and animal family of which the ‘Designer of the Future 2009’ at Design/Miami Basel made a henceforth immediately recognisable hallmark.
