Colour temperature is something many find difficult but it should be a key consideration when planning a kitchen lighting scheme. For traditional kitchens, warm white lighting will produce a cosy, yellow glow similar to that of a halogen bulb, which will highlight the grain of wooden cabinets. Providing a clinical, bright light, cool white works particularly well against glossy doors and the crispness suits the clean lines and minimalist style of a modern kitchen.
For the first time, Sensio has developed a product that delivers the best of both worlds. Its new DuoFlex Flexible Strip Light provides both warm white and cool white lighting within the same fitting, making colour temperature dilemmas a problem of the past.
The end-user can change the lighting colour via either a remote control or switch according to how the room is being used. To add to this, various receivers can be controlled, meaning that large areas can be covered. For cooking and food preparation in the kitchen, set DuoFlex to cool white and for evenings of entertaining it can be used as subtle mood lighting by setting it to warm white. DuoFlex is dimmable from 100% to 10% to provide the end-user with the brightness they need for practical tasks and the atmosphere needed for evenings in.
Sensio’s DuoFlex can be installed at various locations within the kitchen including under or above wall-hung cabinets, around island units, along plinths and under worktops. It’s also a fantastic solution for bedrooms as it allows lighting to be adjusted according to the mood that’s desired.
Available in 1m or 2m lengths, DuoFlex has been designed for a quick and easy installation as each strip light has a self-adhesive backing. The product can also be cut to size if needed and the strip lights can be interlinked for a longer, continuous run.
DuoFlex retails from £42.00 including VAT. This is the price for a 1000mm strip.
