Alfred Homann designed Kipp Post in 1997 for urban environments where both functional and pleasant lighting comfort was desired. A bollard and wall light were added to the family 1999. During development of the Kipp family, emphasis was given to easy maintenance and bulb changes. The aim was for the models to have an expression which made them suited to both modern and classic architecture. The LED version was launched in 2010.
