Davis Furniture is pleased to introduce the Mudra Chair by German industrial designer Stefan Diez to the US contract market. Being the first product that Davis Furniture has offered by this Munich-based designer, Mudra has effortlessly situated itself within Davis' vast portfolio of design-driven products. After almost three years of development, Mudra draws upon Europe's rich design history while exploring new state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies. The result is an innovative plywood chair with a distinctly curved back and a lively silhouette.

"Mudra challenged my understanding of formal qualities and functionality in an exceptional way and would not have been possible without the profound knowledge of our suppliers and an unwavering devotion to design." – Stefan Diez

A light, flexible and stackable multi-use chair, Mudra is suited for a variety of applications including café, small meeting, guest and more. The open loop of the back elegantly embraces the user without limiting them to one sitting position. At the same time, Mudra's back is light and elastic, thus yielding resiliently to all movements. The chair's seat can be specified in matching oak or walnut veneers or can be subsequently upholstered for additional comfort.

Mudra's base is formed from a unified steel frame and is available in over 30 powder coat colors ranging from simple neutrals to lustrous pearls to Davis' vibrant Color Trends. Mudra's wood components are available in all of Davis' standard oak and walnut veneer finishes, as well as painted black oak veneer. Black plastic or felt glides are available. Adding to Mudra's functionality, these chairs may be stacked up to 5 high.

"We envision Mudra as a flexible chair that will function in different contexts, in the cafeteria, restaurants, at home or in the office. The chair has countless possibilities for use." – Stefan Diez
