Chairs and Dining chairs

Due to a recent collaboration between Davis Furniture and Sebastian Herkner, Perle is an understated stacking chair series defined by its subtle design details and high functionality. Representing the third collaboration between the US manufacturer and German product designer, Perle's humble demeanor is reminiscent of classic European bistro chairs with slim wood backs, seats, and metal frames. Evolving the characteristic bistro chair, Sebastian Herkner designed Perle to reflect contemporary aesthetic sensibilities and modern manufacturing methods resulting in a product perfectly positioned to furnish the needs of the next generation of café, small meeting and multi-use seating applications.

"Perle is quiet and subtle, yet beautifully elegant in its nature. It's one of those products that's an instant classic as it reflects upon the steadfastness of the past but equally embraces the aspiration of the future." – Sebastian Herkner

Comprised of both arm and armless units, this series is simple and straightforward in its offering and its aesthetic. A unified tubular steel frame and four-leg base form the foundation for each piece. The chair's wood elements for its seat and back are available in oak and walnut veneers and utilize 2D veneers for the chair's back and 3D veneers for the chair's seat. Achieved through 3D veneer technologies applied over a remarkably thin plywood core, each chair has a uniquely curved ridge that rises at the back perimeter of the seat, adding both character and comfort to Perle's design.

Emphasizing the honesty of its design, the chair's wood back is attached with two visible connecting screws. These connectors are powder coated black; meanwhile, the chair's steel frame can be powder coated in over 30 colors ranging from simple neutrals to lustrous pearls to Davis' vibrant Color Trends. Perle's wood components are available in all of Davis' standard oak and walnut veneer finishes, as well as painted black oak veneer. An upholstered seat pad is also available for added comfort. Black plastic or felt glides are available, as well as elements to protect the chairs when stacked. Chairs may be stacked up to 5 high adding to the functionality of this piece. Rounding out the collection, a barstool is scheduled to join the series later this year.

Perle's beauty is in the simplicity and cleanliness of its design and the quality and innovation of its materials. Designers will enjoy using this lightweight yet durable solution within a wide variety of interior applications ranging from corporate, hospitality and even residential interiors.
