Persiana Barcelona is the contemporary, ecological, and quality reinvention of the classic Barcelonian roller blind. Awarded modern design combined with traditional craftsmanship.

Light control and privacy

Set in the vertical position, these blinds preserve privacy, whilst in the extended position. The blinds further filter light and allow for a view connection.

Resistance and durability

The blinds are painted with a single-component water-based acrylic lacquer. Whilst environmentally friendly this also guarantees long-lasting color retention. Two layers applied by immersion give extreme protection and durability, impeding water from penetrating the wood.

Caption

The blinds act as a filter that protects against water. In an extended or diagonal position, due to the overlapping of the slats and the raindrops, it achieves protection against water.

Sustainability

Persiana Barcelona is an ecological product. The wood is obtained from the local sustainable forest management of wild pine in Soria, Spain. The seals of approval from the PEFC (Program for Forest Certification Recognition) and the CE also guarantee its distinctive quality.

Persiana Barcelona rolls up by stretching a nautical rope. This one keeps the color and the texture of the traditional hemp rope, but gains in tenacity and durability.

Colors

The unique color palette from Persiana Barcelona is inspired by the colors of the city. The 12 colors that compose the palette are taken from the joinery of the well-known houses of modernist architecture of Barcelona.

Dedicated to preserving traditional techniques while incorporating modern sustainability practices

Persiana Barcelona was founded in 2009 as a result of the award-winning proposal "De dins a fora" in the "Racons Públics" competition organized by FAD. The company's initiative aimed to revitalize overlooked urban spaces, sparking the creation of Persiana Barcelona. The concept behind Persiana Barcelona is elegantly simple: replacing the unsightly plastic coverings on balconies in Raval with traditional blinds that not only shield against water but also restore comfort and ventilation to the dwellings while enhancing the faCade's aesthetic appeal. What began as a solution for a specific neighborhood has evolved into a product designed to address a much broader issue. Every detail, from the choice of materials to the revival of the city's vibrant colors, reflects a deep commitment to improving the quality of the timeless balcony blind. Persiana Barcelona reimagines the classic roller blind as a contemporary, eco-friendly, and high-quality product. The company is dedicated to preserving traditional techniques while incorporating modern sustainability practices.
