The Silla R is a deeply personal piece, born from my memories with my grandfather. At home, he had a rustic living room set made from wooden planks that, over time, began to separate, making it uncomfortable to sit on for long periods (almost impossible to take a nap on).
Still, the feeling of sitting close to him always outweighed any discomfort. That emotion inspired this chair: not to hide the “imperfections” of the original furniture, but to highlight them, deliberately dividing the wooden base into two parts, as if time itself had already left its mark on it.
Of course, unlike the rigid seat in my grandfather’s home, this piece needed to soften the experience, preserving its emotional essence while elevating comfort.
