Skyline, designed by Antonio Iraci, stems from an architectural approach to the object: a composition of staggered planes, a three-dimensional volume generated by the intersection of parallel and orthogonal surfaces and by the voids created through their spatial arrangement. The reference is the metropolitan skyline itself, with its alternation between built environment and open space, solids and pauses, light and shadow.
The result is a sculptural freestanding marble washbasin, defined exclusively by straight lines. A strong yet essential presence, an origami of stone that seems to emerge from the wall to express the full material power of natural marble.
An architectural washbasin between light and depth
Skyline is a dynamic composition of depth, perspectives and reflections. In constant dialogue with light and its countless directions, the material comes to life through a minimal design that allows the surfaces to fully express their character.
Seen from the front, the overlap of two planes conceals the basin and does not immediately reveal the primary function of the object. The effect is deliberately enigmatic: transversal slits of light invite exploration. Only after moving beyond the first visual plane does the washbasin reveal itself completely, with the basin suspended between two parallel surfaces, like a contemporary bridge recalling the covered walkways that once connected historic palaces.
Natural marble and contemporary design
Like a modern sculpture inspired by the aesthetics of the avant-garde, Skyline introduces art into the bathroom, enriching the space with new meanings. Able to fit into interiors of different styles, from contemporary minimalism to luxury décor, Skyline is not simply a washbasin, but a true architectural element for bathroom design.
A “sheet of stone” animated by the unique veining of natural marble, by overlapping shadows and by the continuous play of reflections generated by water.
