Tarn granite is a dense, hard-wearing French natural stone quarried by Granitarn from three quarries in the Sidobre massif, southern France: Bousquet (Tarn Fin Grain), Les Vergnes (Tarn Gros Grain), and Lac Haut (Tarn Royal and Tarn Fin Grain). Granitarn controls the full chain from extraction to distribution at its production site in Burlats.
The stone is composed of alkaline and plagioclase feldspars, grey quartz, and black biotite, resulting in a characteristic white-to-grey palette with natural variation in grain and colour. Tarn Royal presents as a darker grey with a medium-to-large grain. All three varieties offer exceptional mechanical performance: compressive strength exceeding 200 MPa, frost resistance across more than 240 cycles, and porosity between 0.2 and 0.4%.
Available as paving stones, cobbles, slabs, tiles, kerbstones, and street furniture, Tarn granite is well suited to high-traffic public spaces, urban infrastructure, and architectural applications. EPDs are available for blocks, pavers, setts, and kerbs.
