From June 27 to July 14, 2014 in Versailles (France) will take place the Solar Decathlon, l '"Olympics of Architecture sustainable" with the objective to design, build and simulate a real life home in a residential building energy efficient. Twenty selected university teams from around the world build in the "Cité du Soleil" - the smart village "solar" - their eco-homes, which will be submitted to ten different tests for declaring the winner University.
Confirming the international recognition of intellectual CLEI, after the presence of the edition of 2013, this year the company has been chosen by two competing teams: the University of Rome with the "Rhome" and 'National University of Mexico City with the project "House."
The project Rhome - "a home for LONDON" - is presented by the Italian team Roma Tre University, the University "youngest" of Rome, founded in 1992 and counts forty thousand students. Roma Tre is a vital lever of the urban development of the capital and is an active center of cultural production with an international dimension. The project proposes a solution for urban areas characterized by low density and a high consumption of land and is a systematic action plan replicable in other contexts. The prototype presented at Versailles - born from the valuable collaboration between the university and the Roman Clei - is an apartment of 60 m2 where the ULYSSES by CLEI DINING allows you to have a versatile and multifunctional. It is, in fact, of a transformable system composed of a double bed with vertical folding opening, characterized by a table that disappears, translating with the opening of the bed, and which is positioned under the net.
HOUSE designed by the Mexican team UNAM, is a lightweight, low-cost designed to exploit the residual areas of metropolitan areas with high population density and to cope with environmental changes. The Mexican team, faced with the challenge of developing a house in a confined space, has chosen the convertible PENELOPE systems SOFA and POPPI 120. Penelope Sofa has a sofa in front disappears to make room for the double bed with vertical opening folding; Poppi 120 is a horizontal bed, opening and folding a plane with integrated desk.
In both projects, modular programs of CLEI offer innovative and functional solutions for the day and the night, tailored to different lifestyles.
