Up desk lamp relies on the tension of the cord to hold the arm perfectly balanced.
Up desk lamp has a long wooden arm that can be set almost vertical. This makes it possible to use the lamp in many situations, from the regular desk lamp to a floor reading lamp.
The cord is put in a groove in the wooden arm and then goes down to the base where it is connected to a spring. The spring gives constant force which makes the lamp head effortless to take up or down. The light source is LED to keep the size and weight down.
All parts share the same color but with different material. The most suitable material for each function is chosen. The combination of materials and the thin dimensions gives the lamp its charachter.
