Large planters – Long linear and massive modular assemblies
To meet large-scale greening projects, our product ranges provide modular solutions, making it possible to create continuous linear layouts or large independent assemblies, detached from the building structure.
The different ranges
STEELAB SAS-L
Large lengths of welded aluminium planters with ground and polished finish.
Lowered intermediate partitions ensure uniform mulching, while irrigation and/or lighting systems can be fully concealed.
Top edges are folded and counter-folded for a high-quality appearance even on large lengths. Standard design includes a draining bottom, with optional drainage systems, water reservoirs or technical network passages.
STEELAB SAA-L
Assembled aluminium version without welding (mitre or lateral assembly), more economical and easier to install, while keeping consistent aesthetics, high quality and durability. Joints are made with concealed splices, maintaining a uniform visual aspect.
STEELAB SPA-L
Planters combined with removable powder-coated cladding panels on visible sides.
This system facilitates handling, routing of networks, and access to the growing area. Maintenance is simplified: local interventions (roots, networks) can be carried out without dismantling the entire linear structure.
Cladding panels can be adjusted in height depending on installation: shorter panels for integration into decking, or longer ones to hide a plinth or raised structure.
STEELAB SBA-L
Long structures of powder-coated outer cladding designed to receive removable culture tanks.
This reduces soil depth in each module, limiting overall weight. Removable tanks can be sized to remain portable, giving easy access to waterproofing layers.
STEELAB-E
Very large assemblies of sheet-metal planters, with bottoms, made of associated modules.
Lowered intermediate partitions (or no partitions at all) allow the creation of massive volumes, including complex shapes.
IMAGE’IN – CLS option
The IMAGE’IN range of fibre-cement planters (lacquered finish) can also be adapted to form long linears by combining modules with lowered intermediate partitions (IOP-CLS option).
Fibre cement is rot-proof, frost-proof, durable, and resistant to saline or chlorinated environments. It is ideal for the most demanding outdoor sites. Its density ensures stability against the wind, and its low thermal conductivity protects the soil ball from temperature variations, reducing summer drying.
This solution offers an excellent quality / price / finish ratio, but remains best suited to moderate module sizes, in line with the technical properties of the material.
The advantages of linear planters and planter sets
* The modules are designed to be man-portable, which facilitates site transport, installation and maintenance operations.
* The finishes offered include high-performance liquid paint or polyester powder coating, with a choice of all standard RAL colours (excluding fluorescent/glitter). Other colours are available on request and sample colour matching can be performed.
* In the standard configuration, a drainable base is integrated to evacuate excess water; optional features can be added: waterproof base for indoor use, horticultural systems, water reservoirs, scuppers/weep outlets, overflow capture via through-wall outlets, etc.
* The lowered intermediate partitions are used to structure and stiffen the assembly, conceal technical routes (irrigation / electrical networks), ensure a uniform mulching along the entire length, and provide a double-skin effect (insulation / reduced thermal exchange).
* Where required by the project or planting needs, it is possible to create assemblies without intermediate partitions (in the STEELAB sheet-metal version) to form a single large soil volume across the whole run.
