Wire lamp is a table lamp made of a cylindrical wire frame ending with a hemisphere. The upper part of the lamp is equipped with a hemispherical plastic screens that come in yellow, orange, white and brown. This lamp is just one of many that show Verner Panton talent with colour. He was especially known for creating explosions of colour and people stood in long queues to see his designs. For example, he did a show where everything was orange, it was called the Orangery, and it was described Verner Panton like crazy - especially in the Danish press. Wire lamp is a sign of yet another explosion.
A design that could only have come from one era - and the newly-reissued Verner Panton Wire table lamp even returns in authentic early 70s colours.
1972 was the year that the Verner Panton introduced the Wire table lamp and 39 years on, this Verpan reissue still had the same impact and style. Consisting of a cylindrical wire framework, it widens at the top to house that colourful plastic shade, with the bulb and cord housed snugly inside. The whole thing stands at around 54cm tall.
