WISA®-Spruce is a strong, rigid, and lightweight structural plywood manufactured from certified Nordic spruce. Cross-banded spruce veneers provide strength and dimensional stability, making the panel suitable for structural and load-bearing applications as well as roofing, flooring, wall sheathing, joinery, and other construction uses.
WISA-Spruce is available with FSC™ and PEFC certification and is covered by third-party verified Environmental Product Declarations. All WISA-Spruce plywood incorporates WISA BioBond technology, which replaces at least 50 percent of the fossil-based phenol used in the adhesive with wood-based lignin. The plywood complies with E1 formaldehyde emission limits and the stricter EU formaldehyde requirements introduced in 2026. Updated EPDs published in 2024 show around a 50 percent reduction in production-phase fossil CO2 emissions compared with 2021 data, reflecting the transition to fossil-free purchased electricity, the rollout of BioBond technology, and changes to the calculation methodology.
