One of the leading biomass heating system manufacturers, Windhager, this month launches its new VarioWIN wood pellet boiler.

VarioWIN is a very versatile and compact biomass wood pellet boiler with pellet feed variants and different boiler versions to suit installation anywhere in the home.

With a footprint of only 800mm by 600mm, the new VarioWIN wood pellet boiler is a compact and practical heating solution unrivalled for its adaptability, allowing options of direct pellet feed, pneumatic suction system or manual loading of fuel. The system ensures efficient and clean combustion even in low output ranges and can be combined with other energy sources such as solar as a result of Windhager’s whole system technology.

The VarioWIN has an output range from 3.6kW to 12kW and offers an ideal solution for dwellings with a low energy demand. Installation of the VarioWin will meet Code 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes without having to improve any of the building fabric.

Certified under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), the VarioWIN will be classed for financial support through the Renewable Heat Incentive scheme (RHI) to be introduced in April 2011. With the VarioWIN and the full Windhager biomass range being MCS certified product grants are also available for householders through the Low Carbon Buildings programme (LCBP) until the inception of the RHI scheme.

The very compact design of the VarioWIN even allows all the necessary heating components such as pumps and mixing valves, expansion vessels and safety equipment to all be mounted inside the boiler meaning that the appliance can be positioned anywhere and there is no need for a boiler room.

Featuring the latest burner technology for clean and efficient combustion, the VarioWIN is available with two levels of ash cleaning, either manually with the Premium model or automatically with the Exklusiv model. Cleaning intervals, which are up to 1250 hours of operation, are indicated on the boiler’s ‘InfoWIN’ digital display system. Using proven technology, Windhager is able to offer impressive warranty periods for their appliances for five years.

As the first biomass heating company to successfully achieve MCS certification on its full range of wood pellet boilers, all products from Windhager UK will entitle customers to financial support through the government backed, RHI scheme.
