In one of the most traditional neighborhoods in the capital of São Paulo, Vila Mariana, a 37m² apartment located in the Jorge Tibiriçá Building received a creative and assertive intervention to transform the property into a functional and welcoming investment. Designed for rental after the construction, the studio project was led by the RMV Interiores office, which focused on fully optimizing the floor plan and creating a mezzanine to reorganize the dynamics of the spaces without sacrificing comfort and identity.
The proposal was developed around the appreciation of the double-height ceiling — an element that is rarely used in compact properties. The mezzanine structure allowed the bedroom to be relocated to the upper floor, freeing up the lower floor to house integrated social areas: kitchen, living room and a practical home office with closet and wardrobe. The access staircase, with drawer fronts and recessed lighting, highlights the care taken with the functional and aesthetic use of every inch.
The contemporary concept is revealed not only in the spatial organization, but also in the color and material choices. The palette starts with neutral and sophisticated tones, based on gray, white and light wood, and gains layers of texture with finishes such as burnt cement and linen curtains. The Sacred Gray MDF, applied in custom carpentry, contributes to the visual sobriety, while Suvinil's Mantra paint, chosen for the ceiling molding, imbues personality and subtly delimits the vertical volumes of the living room.
The carpentry by Formas Marcenaria played an essential role in building this identity. Comprising smart solutions, such as built-in cabinets, niches and drawers in the staircase, the execution translated the concept of functionality with lightness. The coverings supplied by Porto S.A. marked the project with their visual unity, such as the Cemento Grigio 90x90 porcelain tile, which covers the living room, kitchen, balcony and bathroom, creating a cohesive and continuous base, capable of visually expanding the spaces.
The result is a fluid, practical and welcoming space that reflects the needs of contemporary everyday life without neglecting aesthetics. A studio that, despite being compact, provides complete solutions for living well — and with style.
