Developed through international collaboration, the complex brings together the expertise of Driven, responsible for the racing circuit design, and IPA - Architecture and more, responsible for the architectural design. The project was completed in approximately eight months, an exceptionally short timeframe for infrastructure of this scale and technical complexity.

At the heart of the complex is a 4-kilometer circuit with 15 corners and a straight of more than 900 meters, allowing speeds above 280 km/h. The track offers 21 different configurations, making it adaptable to professional competitions, vehicle testing, training sessions, and educational programs. Its layout combines high-speed sections, technical corners, and elevation changes to create a varied and demanding driving environment.

The circuit was developed in accordance with international requirements for automobile and motorcycle racing and has been inspected by representatives of the FIA and FIM. According to the expert assessment, it also meets the technical requirements for Formula 1 vehicle testing. Specialized racing asphalt, advanced drainage systems, safety zones, protective barriers, and technical installations form part of an integrated engineering strategy focused on safety, durability, and performance.

The architectural program organizes the facility as a complete operational environment for competitors, teams, organizers, and spectators. With a capacity of up to 30,000 visitors, A1 Motor Park includes a pit lane, garages, team service areas, race control facilities, a medical center, technical control systems, VIP areas, hospitality spaces, a restaurant, café, retail, spectator zones, and supporting infrastructure.

The architecture responds directly to the complex logistics of motorsport. Public, technical, and operational areas are clearly organized while remaining closely connected to the circuit, creating an integrated system in which movement, visibility, safety, and functionality shape the overall spatial concept.

Located approximately 12 kilometers from Borovets and within easy reach of Sofia and Blagoevgrad, A1 Motor Park also has the potential to connect motorsport with tourism, hospitality, and regional events. Beyond hosting competitions, the complex provides professional infrastructure for Bulgarian drivers, riders, and teams to train, test, and develop within the country.

A1 Motor Park represents a significant addition to Bulgaria’s sports infrastructure, bringing together specialized circuit design, architecture, engineering, and public facilities within a single, coherent motorsport destination.
