AE STUDIO

Brickwood419 Design was engaged by AE Studio to design their office space in New Delhi, India. This architectural studio space was designed keeping the ‘Walk of life’ concept as a design directive with the industrial chic style central.

The spatial planning was dictated by enhancing client’s visual experience. It was extremely critical for the owners to have a layout that almost unknowingly forced the visitors and clients to have a visual experience of the whole office.

As one enters the office, the concept showcases an impressive feature wall with artificial green grass and lacquered glass, that not just hides the out of place ‘column’ but also visually connects it to the ceiling. This radiates a strong perspective above and beyond, and takes the viewer’s eye towards the studio space unconsciously. The visitor walks through the studio guided by the marble look-tile flooring and the evident false ceiling drop.It is only when one crosses the studio, the washroom can be accessed.

Executed in a natural raw palette, the office features a beautiful biophilic design that ties together the entrance staircase, reception lobby and the staff area. These elements were used so as to ensure liveliness in this underground space that receives very low natural lighting. On one hand, the warm aspect of wood promotes well-being, the open concept with grass walls curate a friendly-relaxed space for the employees that helps improve their productivity. Modern industrial touch is added by customized black metal room separators. A more polished look for the owner’s cabin & the conference room was envisaged keeping the clientelle in mind, as a result, a plush but warm palette was followed in these spaces specifically. Material textures, patterns & ceiling design together cultivate strong perspectives that weave the design story and the light fixtures bring this story to life.

Furniture has been custom designed and built to cater to the needs of each space independently. On one hand, the thin frame metal workdesks, exposed brick walls, and grass offer industrial feel to the office, the marble look tiles and modern light fixtures add a touch of luxe on the other.

The intent to create a space where everyone, including clients could contribute was achieved keeping the above elements and design strategies in mind. The office today demonstrates a work environment that has been designed and organized around its users – and not the other way around.
