BRINGING TOGETHER HISTORY AND EVOLUTION UNDER THE SAME ROOF

AIMPLAS, a leading Spanish technology centre specialised in R + D + i activities for plastic materials and composites, wanted to transform an existing and unused working space into an innovative learning hub for clients and institutions. Our comprehensive transformation of this circular area allows for new mobile and adaptable furniture elements to be seamlessly integrated into the historic stained glass work of the Valencian artist Ximo Roca, offering a functional and adaptable multipurpose space.

A FLEXIBLE CONFIGURATION SYSTEMFollowing the need to showcase a wide range of projects focused on materials research while offering a flexible space to host different stakeholders, we created a configurable system with mobile furniture and flexible elements adaptable according to different needs.

MULTIPLE ACTIVITIES IN ONE ADAPTABLE SPACE

By optimising resources, our design offers different configurations to turn the space into a perfectly transformable scenario according to the activities; allowing from a training centre to work and board meetings place, storage space and showroom exhibiting samples and the research outcomes from more than 200 annual R&D&i projects.

The final result evokes an aesthetic universe that reinforces the company's identity  and  dissemination mission in every detail.

A PERFECT MACHINE SYSTEM

Furniture, signage, display and digital elements become mobile pieces allowing different scenes to be improvised and synchronised.

The lighting reinforces the circular design and iconicity of its glass ceiling, enhancing the work of the local artist while merging history and evolution under the same roof.
