Renovation of apartment in Moema.
When i was comissioned for this project, the client had just bought this apartment in a recently built building in a rich area of São Paulo.

Just like the rest of the city, apartments in São Paulo are getting smaller over time with no critical thinking on the needs of the inhabitants. The result is tiny apartments, with serveral tiny rooms and a large balcony due to current city regulation.

It wasn't different for this apartment. Living room, kitchen, bedroom, laundry room... No room had the proper sizes to fit more than 2 people.

Since the client that was going to live there is single but wanted to host get togethers for family and friends, we suggested on tearing down all the walls leaving the bathroom as the only space surrounded by 4 walls.

All uses were planned to happen in one single large space, once there is no need for great privacy for a single user. The bedroom can be isolated by a curtain, in case for a little privacy when in presence of other people.
