On a 520 m² garden plot in the ‘Währinger Cottageviertel’, a 1930s apartment building is further developed in a contemporary style. Sophisticated & comfortable. The six variations, from maisonette to four-room apartment, with bright, spacious living-dining areas and balconies, are all daylit from two or three sides. The extension nestles sensitively alongside the existing apartment and into its surroundings using projections and recesses in the facade composition. Large windows frame views out to the greenery. The plaster façade adopts the typical decorative elements of the twenties and thirties with the abstracted window mouldings. Detailed application of colour and material: windows, railings, prefabricated concrete elements, aluminium roof shingles oxide red accentuates the building entirely from the facade to the stairwell. Elegance, maximum volume, generosity, and charming views of the surrounding greenery.
