A young couple without children, who already lived together in another property and were about to get married. They love entertaining, cooking and enjoying moments of company. They also love reading.
The property is rented, but the renovation was almost complete. We interfered with the ceiling, with the complete removal of the plaster in the living room. We also broke down some walls, like the one that divided the dining room, making the apartment more integrated and current. The apartment also had two important windows closed by plaster, we opened them to provide even more natural lighting. The loose furniture was a mix of new and tenant/client collection. We designed joinery for the kitchen, bar and TV room. New curtains, lighting technician, complete renovation of the bathroom and lots of creativity.
A mix between industrial and maximalist. Colors and lots of affection. A practical and stylish apartment.
Is there a starting point that you consider to be the key to the project?
The removal of the plaster lining, exposing and highlighting the raw slab. As well as the carpet and choice of colors.
Are there any previous features of the property that were maintained because they were special or at the request of the owners?
We maintained Roman travertine flooring, restored the social entrance door, wooden table…
Did you have any difficulties? What were the solutions found?
The apartment did not have a blueprint, the last document found was from 1986. The client also chose not to completely renovate the master bath, but wanted to remove the bathtub and improve the bathroom space. In the kitchen, we also kept the marble on the countertops, but with all new joinery and electrical appliances. Challenger.
What factors were analyzed when choosing covering materials? What materials stand out? Are there any ecological or technological materials that deserve to be detailed?
The application of pebbles and porcelain tiles to improve the master bath, while we kept part of the pre-existing travertine. So we did a renovation where 3 different coverings met.
Is there any special object or accessory that deserves to be highlighted, for example, as something ordered abroad or as a collectible?
The old blue telephone, left by the previous owner of the apartment.
